If intesec's suggestion to remove anti-virus software other than N360 does not help, please let us know what version of Windows OS, N360 (look in Support | About) and web browser you use.
For now, please re-enable the Anti-Virus and Smart Firewall features of N360. If you have not already done so, ensure your trial version is fully updated by running manual LiveUpdates until the only update being delivered is a pulse update. Continue to re-boot and run manual LiveUpdates until N360 is fully patched. Once N360 is fully patched, let us know the version numbers of the Norton add-ons for your browser (e.g., Norton Toolbar, Norton Vulnerability Protection, etc.) - you can typically find these version numbers at Tools | Manage Add-ons | Extensions in most browsers.
As you can see from the IDM FAQhere, anti-virus and firewall programs are not the only reason that IDM sometimes stops at 99% of download.
Do you have the latest version of Internet Download Manager (v. 6.17 Build 11)? What is the graphics card in your computer, and are the drivers for this graphics card up-to-date? If your graphics card does not support hardware (GPU) acceleration, have you tried disabling hardware acceleration (in Firefox, go to Tools | Options | Advanced | General | Browsing | Use hardware acceleration when available | Disable; in IE, go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced | Settings | Accelerated Graphics | Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering | Enable)? ------------ MS Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP2 * Firefox 24.0 * IE 9.0 * NIS 2013 v. 20.4.0.40 HP Pavilion dv6835ca, Intel Core2Duo CPU T5550 @ 1.83 GHz, 3.0 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
THIS all happened to me after norton made huge update..i think to 2014
the version i have is 21.0.2.1 , add-ons : norton toolbar 2014.5.1.6 ,, Norton Vulnerability Protection 12.0.0.380 -1 , manual update several times. i have the latest IDM
my gpu is GEFORE 9600GT with updated drivers. i disabled hardware accelerationin firefox which is the only web browser i have
windows 7 ultimate 64bit

i unstalled it again and i can use idm with no problems
i even tried two different download managers with same result
Thanks for confirming that you have the latest Norton extensions for your Firefox browser (see here). Assuming you have the latest Firefox v 24.0, trying the following test:
If that download fails, temporarily disable both your Norton Toolbar and Norton Vulnerability Protection extensions (Tools | Add-ons | Extensions), re-start Firefox, and try downloading the identical file to see if the download runs to completion.

I can zoom in to read the pop-up in your first screenshot, but the resolution is too low in the second to read the error message. The next time a download fails, try capturing the active window (i.e., not the entire screen) by holding down the "Alt" key before pressing "Print Screen" as described here in Yaso_Kuuhl's forum tip.
In message # 5 I asked you to download (but not install) the latest Adobe Flash EXE installer for plug-in based browsers from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html using IDM with and without your Norton extensions enabled in your browser. There is nothing special about that one installer - I just know that Norton's Download Insight trusts the reputation of that particular file on my own system and allows it to be saved to my hard drive.
From the information you've given me so far, I can't tell if you were simultaneously downloading 4 different version of the Adobe Flash Player installer (i.e., .exe / .msi, Active-X / plug-in) when 2 of them failed, or if the Norton browser extensions were enabled or disabled in Firefox when the failure occurred.
I also recognize the NetWorx icon in your system tray, but do you have any other network monitoring software running during your downloads? There are reports in the NIS/NAV forum where a PC manufacturer's built-in network monitoring software (e.g., Asus Network iControl, Applian Network Monitor - see Iancea's post here) affected Internet connectivity with NIS 21.x, and your screen shots appear to show that you're doing a lot of background system monitoring in your system tray.

Can you try using IE? That way we can eliminate the browser as a cause.
An update for IDM v. 6.18 was released today that adds some significant enhancements - see here. Let us know if you see any improvement with the latest version.

I wanna say that everything now runs perfectly normal again,
the issue was serious conflict between Norton and networx latest version 5.2.10.
when I removed the latest update version of Networx from my PC all weird IDM issues were gone.
Now I reinstalled the older version 5.2.9 and its all good , I tired several times to install latest update and reinstall older just to be 100% sure its networx what was causing the issue,, it only conflict with Norton , other security suites were running normal, so am good .

Hi uddup76:
Great to hear you've solved the problem. I'd suggest logging in and marking your message # 17 as the Accepted Solution to assist other IDM users having a similar issue.
I use NetWorx v. 5.2.10 with NIS v. 20.4.0.40 without any problems (although I don't use IDM to manage my downloads), so it sounds like you've discovered another version of network monitoring software that causes Internet connectvity problems with NIS 21.0.x (see message # 14). Just happy you're up and running again.

I can remember compatibility issues with NetWorx many years ago. I cannot remember the details now, but at the time it looked like another program was the problem.
What a tangled web we weave when we try to use a Windows computer...
