I used NIS 2009 + ThreadFire.
No problems whatsoever, although, some users does think the TF is really not as good until the protection level are set at the highest. But it works for me setting at the default.
I used to combine CounterSpy + NIS2008. Both get alone well, but I have already stop using CounterSpy.
Thank you
This is possibly a question that cannot be answered outside of a person telling the community what application he/she has huh.
I guess I'm curious if Norton products can work simultanously with other applications?
I think a Symantec Tech said none are really compatible, that is, they dont recommend it.
So let me say this. Prior to February 2007, I didnt have Windows Vista, I used Windows XP and here is the following I used to protect my PC:
Norton Internet Security 2007
Trend Micro Anti Spyware
Lava Softs Ad Aware
Windows Defender
Once upgraded to Windows Vista, when it first came out, a couple of those werent Vista compatible; now some will work.
I will say and I'm sure we all know that if youre running an Anti Virus program you cannot install another Antivirus program until that one is un installed.
So right now this very moment I have on my PC Norton Internet Security 2008; within 24hrs I will have NIS 2009 installed. I guess I'm wondering if there are only a few applications (spyware/malware removal related) that are fully functional with NIS or is it just trial and error. Again if something goes wrong Norton and I have other programs installed its possible the Tech may ask me if I have other programs running and to uninstall them to see if the problem persists
The thing is, I have a thread going with a problem I'm encountering about multiple windows popping up and continues until Internet Explorer crashes but NIS 2008 isnt fixing any problems and one person asked what other Malware removal applications I have installed (which is none)
I just downloaded Malwarebytes Anti Malware program and it found no errors which is good but perhaps there is something else on my PC?
Is this thread even needed? Can we just assume and say "No other non Symantec program will be compatible, per Symantec Tech and that if you do download something its at your risk"??
I have read a couple pages of these boards and found that someone was saying "Super Anti Spyware" but perhaps someone else has good recommendations on these types of programs that has worked just fine while having a Norton Product installed?

I use it with TF as well. I'm very happy with it. TF will picks up a pre defense and NIS will protect me from the rest
Iām Using Superantispyware on demand with no problems.
NIS 2009 alone is enough. I also use Threatfire set to level 4 along side NIS 2009. I run Malware Bytes on demand once a week. Also do not use IE. Use Firefox with Ad Blocker Plus extension.
You could use other spyware apps indeed. But I would recommend to use them only on demand. Otherwise your machine will just bloath your machine.
There is no use because NIS 2009 will keep you safe
