Norton Android App

We’ll need @peterweb Mobile Master to chime in.
Sorry, I’ve no notion why you’re not finding App Security for Google Play.

Does your Account page show you’re signed in?
Does your Alerts (bell) have a red dot?
Maybe a permission is needed.
Maybe a phone restart will help.

I’ll try to ask @peterweb to chime in

Yes. I’m sign in.

That’s what I have.

What permission do you need?

Please click on Alerts (red dot)…maybe, you’ll be asked to sign in.

I showed you what I have on Alerts. Here’s what I have.

Please click on Alerts (red dot)…are you asked to sign in?

Recently on my Android devices…I had Alerts (red dot) and was asked to sign in.

I’ve no notion whether that’ll help.
I’ve no notion what permission may be needed.

Nope. All I have is. Scam calls and Protect mailbox

We’ll need @peterweb our Mobile Master to chime in.

Sorry, I just see what I see…my side.

Are you Norton 360 with LifeLock?

Caveat: I’m Norton 360

Norton 360 with Lifelock

Maybe, your Norton 360 with LifeLock entitlements renders Norton for Android differently than my Norton 360.

Again, we’ll need help from a user more in the know than me.
Sorry, for wasting your time.

Sorry for late reply here. My version of Norton 360 Android also does not show the App Security for Google Play feature that I can turn on or off. Now I have to say that I’m on the beta channel for updates and my version is 5.124.x.x.x.

I have flagged your other thread here for my Norton contacts to look into the issue with the App Scan not being available. I’m wondering if this may be a feature that is getting rolled into the AI Genie ‘feature’? I have not heard anything back yet. I’ll bump that request.

Thanks. It’s super weird. I love that scanner.

How is the search going?

Unfortunately I am not getting any feedback. The best I can offer is that the latest version in the Play Store shows in the app description that app advisor now appears to check the apps with AI as it comes into the device, as I suggested above.

But will it show up when looking at an.app?

If you mean does it show the safety of an app in the Google Play Store, I don’t think so. The description of the App Advisor feature in my image above seems to say apps are scanned on your device.

As I noted, I have not been able to get any feedback so I cannot confirm my assumptions. I can only confirm that the scan notices are not there in the Play Store any more.

Hey folks,

Sorry for missing this thread, I don’t get emails from Norton community (alerts) for some reason.

The dashboard section highlighted in red is just a shortcut to the settings section for Google Play Scan.

Can you check what app versions are currently installed on your devices?

I have to admit that I did not follow my usual advice for an app issue. I finally uninstalled 360 from my Samsung A15 on Android 16. Restarted the phone and then reinstalled 360. I now have the App Advisor settings in 360 and the messages are shown in the Google Play Store app again.

My version is 5.126.1.251113954 Norton 360 with Lifelock and no short cut is appearing on mine nor is it working on my Google playstore.

Hello @MattPat

And you already refreshed your Norton 360 install…and still no Play Store message?
Does your Norton 360 have App Advisor for Google Play setting?

Norton 360 has Unrestricted battery access?
Norton 360 Service has full control of your device?

Caveat: I’m Norton 360

Refreshed install, what does that mean? It is unrestrictive and able to use data in restrictive mode. What’s the other permission I need?
