Norton Antivirus 2010 - Language Switch - Chinese Trad to Eng?

I don't know if this is the right forum to post in, but I have an urgent "problem".

I am an English speaking Norton user, but I currently live in Taiwan, which means I had to buy the Antivirus 2010 from the Taiwan's Symantec site (or I thought I had to). As a result, my Norton product was in Chinese Traditional. Not much longer, I found out that there was an English version on Taiwan's site. Is there any way I can switch my current product's language to English?

Please I bought a 2 year subscription and I don't want it to go to waste, as I can't even read anything on the Antivirus. I still have the product key, if that will help.

Hi danielh_97,

You will have to uninstall your Chinese NAV (if you installed it) and then install the English NAV 2010. First, download the English NAV from this link and save it to your desktop:

www.norton.com/nav10

Uninstall the Chinese version, then install the English version. Your product key should be picked up automatically (product keys do not care about language switches, by the way ;-)  ) by the freshly installed English NAV, but keep it handy just the same :-)

Please tell us how it goes - thank you :-)

About the uninstall my current product, I heard that there was a special Norton removal tool? Will I need that or can I just uninstall from Windows' "Uninstall a program"?

By the way, lightning fast post :P

Hi danielh_97

Yaso has gone off-line.

Just use the normal uninstall a program. The removal tool is usually for problem uninstalls.

Everything said above is correct.  May I just add that when you go to mynorton account (and if you have not set this up you should do when you install the English version) you will note that the Product Language is Chinese Traditional. This will always remain the case because the product key that you are using is sourced from an "area"  speaking Chinese traditional.
