Hi,
I have just had a reinstall on my computer and have the above Norton security installed. This was done by a licensed computer specialist whom I trust and have called on many times in the past ten years. I use XP Professional Intel Dual Core 32 bit; 360 GB hard drive (Intel 2)and have plenty of room left on this drive. My computer is quite fast. I have also had a new sound card installed - ESS Allegro PCI Audio (WDM) which is working fine. I use Firefox as my browser.

I am having problems shutting my computer down in the evenings which has never happened before. I go through the usual steps at shutdown and the red light (hard drive goes off. The green light is still running as are the fans. In order to close the computer down completely, I have to press the power button at the front of my CPU. I have had two people tell me that (1) it has something to do with my virus protection (2) high cpu useage.
Can anyone enlighten me as to why this is occurring? I would love to hear from you. BTW, I am far from being a computer geek.
