Hi papagalus:
Welcome to the Norton community.
Did you uninstalled Kaspersky Antivirus before installing Norton Antivirus (NAV)? If not, you will have to uninstall Kaspersky AV and then run the Kaspersky Removal Tool as instructed here to ensure that any orphaned Kaspersky registry entries and disk files that might conflict with your NAV installation are wiped off your system. If you did uninstall Kaspersky AV before installing NAV I would still recommend that your run the Kaspersky Removal Tool at least once to ensure Kaspersky AV is completely removed from your system. Choose your version of Kaspersky AV manually from the dropdown list if the tool does not detect an installed product.
If NAV still isn't working correctly after you wipe Kaspersky AV off your system, try re-installing NAV with the Norton Remove and Reinstall (NRnR) tool available at www.norton.com/nrnr. This will install the latest NAV v. 21.1.0.18 (2014) (your current version can be found from the main NAV menu at Support | About), so post back before proceeding with the NRnR tool if you would prefer to reinstall NAV v. 20.4.0.40 (2013) and we'll provide detailed instructions.

I installed Kaspersky Antivirus after I saw that my Norton Antivirus make me problems.
Hi papagalus
You can’t have two real time security products on the computer.
Which one would you like to have? Would you like Norton or kaspersky?

Was this a new computer? If so, check that there was not trial security software that came with the computer. Even a trial that you did not activate should be removed with the removal too for that product.
Hi papagalus,
Could you please clarify what version of Norton you are using (2013 = version 20, 2014 = version 21). You mention both.
I tried Norton Antivirus 2013 and 2014.Both are offered a choice of internet provider
and licensed.Indefinitely.
I prefer Norton Antivirus not Kaspersky Antivirus.
Hi, papgalus. If it helps you decide which version of NAV you wish to install, I suggest you follow Imacri's advice, and go with the 2014 version.
I've run it since it's final release, and have found it quite stable.

Hi papagalus:
I would suggest that you first try removing Kaspersky AV with the Kaspersky Removal Tool as instructed in message # 2 to see if that solves the problem.
If you have both NAV v. 20.x (2013) and NAV v. 21.x (2014) currently installed, post back before running the Norton Remove and Reinstall (NRnR) tool and let us know which version you would like to keep. Some Internet providers offer a customized Norton product (e.g., Comcast's Norton Secuirty Suite, Deutsche Telekom's Norton AntiVirus Online) so you should also confirm that the name of your Norton product is actually Norton Antivirus as shown below. The version number of your installed product can be found at Help & Support | About. The latest retail version of NAV is currently v. 21.1.0.18.
