Norton App Lock recovery email Password Error

Hi. I install Norton App Lock on an Android Sony Xperia E5 with Android versión 6

When i install latest update on 26 april 2024 the old unblock pattern change ( i knew pretty well the pattern i set since i unblock apps very oftenly) , so i can not unblock blocked app ( mostly all ). Also recovery email procedure is not working since i does not recognize password, saying incorrect password. 

I check other post ( like this ) and users answer that recovery email from Norton App Lock should be the same as Google Account associated with my device. It is. And I also check password is correct enter gmail through a web browser. The password is correct.

Others users says it is "a problem in Norton's backend servers not connecting correctly to the Google login servers".

I would highly appreciated an urgent responde since all of my phone applications are blocked by Norton App Lock.

You are not supposed to be able to uninstall App Lock as a security measure. Otherwise if someone else got your device, they might be able to delete it to access the apps you were protecting.

 

In fact i cant uninstall norton app lock from safe mode, nor from normal mode. Android phone doesnt let me do it. I cant uninstall norton app lock if not in safe mode because i ask norton safe lock to block adjustment application. These app let users uninstall application. So i cant uninstall norton safe lock if not in safe mode. Going to try to delete app data folder, and check what happen. Also tried to delete norton app lock data from adjustments in safe mode, but even i click several times on delete data button, it doesnt do anything, it doesnt delete the data associated with norton app lock. Thanks anyway.

I'm surprised that you can uninstall App Lock without being able to log in. 

Anyway, if you are trying to reinstall any Android app, you should first remove the app data. Then uninstall the app and restart the device before reinstalling the app. 

 

Thanks Peter. I just contact norton support 3 (three) times yet. 1st. chat operator says it is ( 1may2024) no longer able to install norton app lock on android phone. I just check play store and is still there. Also says software license and contract is not available when ask to get the link to contract. I get from another phone when trying to install norton app lock on another phone. So it is available and i had contract. 2nd chat operator says i should try to uninstall app, and change password of gmail account. I did it but stills app lock recovery stills says password incorrect. I disabled two-step verification from gmail account. it do not work. 3rd chat operator says that i should enter phone on safe mode and uninstall norton app lock. I enter my phone on safe mode but it is not possible to uninstall app lock on safe mode. The uninstall button is disabled since safe mode does not load any but core applications. I just check gmail account used on norton app lock recovery was the only one gmail account on the phone and that was accessed on the browser, and also on google mobile application (not another account).  but still it does not work ( recovery stills says password incorrect but i had verified password entering my gmail account on my browser).

Unfortunately, all I can do is escalate this thread as I did for the thread you linked. This seems to be an issue with the interface between Norton and Google. Nothing we can resolve in the forum.
