@peterweb locking Recent Apps is difficult and once you add fingerprint detection there are additional security and compatibility issues that get added on. Manufacturers and OS have different implementations of Recent Apps which results in unpredictable behavior. One example is if you fingerprint unlock Recent Apps it would minimize all apps and return you to the home screen, rendering recent apps useless. We found it best to disable fingerprint scanner during recent apps so that the majority of our customers can have better and more secure experience.
We see other popular products such as CM security and DoMobile at this point do not allow recent apps to be locked. I recall CM used to have the same implementation as we did.
