Norton AV and Windows 7 Wireless connections

I recently obtained a Toshiba laptop running Windows 7.  This came with a trial version of Norton.  During this trial, the machine had no issues using a wireless connection for internect connectivity and seeing a shared PC and shared printer using my Linksys wireless router.

When I purchased the full Norton subscription, I can no longer see the shared PC or the shared printer.  My other laptop, a MacBook see's and accesses the devices with no issues.  I can however, still see and used the wireless network for internet connectivity.

Can someone help me figure this out?  The Norton Network Security Map sees the shared PC (FULL TRUST), but the printer is reported as offline.  Keep in mind the MacBook does not have an issue.  Disabling the Norton Smart Firewall did not solve the problem.  HELLLPPP! and thanks.

Hi Delph .... answers:

1.  Yes

2.  Download from the Norton Site I think.

3.  No, not certain ...

Why can Norton see the share and printer, but Windows 7 cannot????????????

The reason I ask is because you said you had Norton AV, which is Norton Antivirus and has no firewall.  If you have a smart firewall, then you must have either NIS, or N360, neither of which is compatible with NAV.  If you over-installed one or the other, there could be problems.

If Norton can see the share and the printer, but Win 7 can't see it then the problem is either in the router or in one of the more obscure Windows settings.

You might need to right click on you network connections>properties and make sure that file and printer sharing is checked, and that IPV6 is enabled in the Win 7.

Reset the router, and turn things on one at a time.  I found in hooking up two XP machines via a WIN 7 machine, it required a reboot after getting the settings all in order.  The router is a bit funky at work so some of the issues could have been that too.
