In the past Norton became bloatware and aggressive. I see the trend, again, more aggressive with pushing more features and no content to hang in the background doing it’s core job of virus protection, and watching the OS for a few other issues. I want them to add the function and option of clicking ’ do not bother me again for this feature’ and no longer pushing the issue, on several new features, extended features, etc. Now I see it wants to be active on the desktop and I close it. I should not have to chase answers. I liked the Norton 360, and no more. I do not want the bloatware. I bet others too have noticed the mission creep turn into a flood. IMHO
Have you considered reverting back to version 22.24.8.36 and stay on that version while 24.xx gets itself ironed out?

you have to keep updated, plus it’s a trend with Norton, bloatware… like in the past before they fixed those blunder years… they found a winning formula, and are ruining it again…
I’m not finding it hard to download and install one update a day, vice, having version 24.xx ruin my account and over a dozen device installs a third time. Everyone’s needs will vary though. It was a suggestion that reverting would keep you where you want to be with Norton which is functional until the 24.xx version has a hot flat-iron taken to it.

The VPN is giving me a hard time, I have been working with computer for 4 decades… I would never push VPN on people who did not request it or remotely understand it. it should have been in it’s own version, not in 360. VPN in theory is good, but it cannot be used in one size fits all. It is probably causing lots of people to dump using Norton, no one outside or the computer pros can use it without headaches. IMHO.
my whole computer, with Win11, was crashing and issues, and just removed Norton 360 and it is working great now! They were so busy putting bloatware in it and popups they forgot how to keep it working. I have to remove it off some other computer in my home. I still have a few months on the subscription, so it will go to waste…
Yeah, Norton has definitely gotten more aggressive with pushing features. It used to be lightweight, but now it feels like it’s trying to do too much. A “do not bother me again” option would be great, but they probably won’t add it since they want users engaged with all their extras. You’re not alone—plenty of people miss the simpler, no-nonsense Norton.
