I received an email from noreply@excelforum.com. I do have excel and probably am signed up within excel forum's webpage. The email discussed a Dashboard Competition and gave links, presumably, to its entries. I wanted to see what a "dashboard" was, and maybe learn some excel tips . . . so I opened a new browser window, searched for excel forum, and clicked on www.excelforum.com. Immediately I got a Norton pop-up warning that an intrusion attempt had been blocked--from my own computer !? The text of the warning from its "Details" was:
"Network traffic from getpagehistory.in . . . matches the signature of a known attack. The attack was resulted from \DEVICE\HARDDISKVOLUME2\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\IEXPLORER.EXE. To stop being notified for this type of traffic, in the Actions panel, click Stop Notifying Me."
Do I have a virus remotely activated in my computer? or is Norton trying to stop (and accomplishing stopping) some regular action of Internet Explorer?
