Issue abstract: Norton blocking connection to devices on own wifi

Detailed description: Example being connecting laptop to Smart TV to cast screen. I am only able to do this by turning off both the VPN and Firewall. Is there somewhere in the app I can configure device list that I want to connect to?

Product & version number:Norton 360

OS details: Windows 11

What is the error message you are seeing? N/A

If you have any supporting screenshots, please add them:

Hello Karen. Does cast work correctly with just the VPN disabled and Firewall not disabled as a test? Cast is notorious for not working with a VPN.

Hi SA

I did that test and I have to disable both VPN and Firewall. The thing is that I have always been able to cast to Smart TV with both VPN and Firewall enabled. I suspect there has been a new version of Norton released and this functionality is no longer available and I don’t know were I can specify which IP’s are safe

Thanks

I’m almost certain you’ve upgraded to version 24.xx . WiFi, VPN and firewall issues are common in that latest version release. You mentioned Norton as “the app”. Are you using the Microsoft Store app for Norton on Windows 11 in S mode? Just clarifying what is written. :upside_down_face:

Hi SA

Im using norton 360 downloaded from the norton site rather than an app. Sorry for the confusion
