Norton Bootable Recovery Disk

I downloaded the Norton Bootable Recovery Wizard and then made a Norton Bootable Recovery Disk on a CD. I tried restarting the computer using the recovery disk and when the yellow Norton screen came on I got the following message on a pop up window - "Norton Bootable Recovery Tool failed to Launch, Required file not found, program will exit [ ERR-0001] ". Can someone please solve this problem? Thanks, John

The operating system is Windows 7 and everything is current.

Are you running NAV/NIS or are you in fact a Comcast customer running their Norton Security Suite?

nope, I got optonline cable and Norton Internet Security was installed when I bought the brand new computer from HP.

johnnydot: Can you please try that bootable disc on another Windows machine to see if the disc works?
