I did a fresh install of XP on a new hard drive, then updated it to SP3. Next I installed the latest Norton 360 and updated it. Next, I downloaded the Norton Bootable Recovery Tool and created a bootable CD following all the defaults.
I switched out the new drive and replaced it with the drive that is infected with the MoneyPak FBI warning malware and booted the Norton Bootable Recovery CD. It eventually produces an error "Norton Recovery Tools cannot be run on this operating system. It requires one of the following operating systems: Windows XP SP2 or later....".
The drive that I am trying to repair does have XP SP3. Any suggestions?
