What is the error message you are seeing? No error message, just a crashed browser.
I can open a new window, but when I try to open a Private Mode Window, the entire browser crashes.

Um, reinstall of Norton Private Browser? Did you retain data?
Is your Norton Private Browser installed under Program Files or AppData?
Did you install for all users? then NPB is installed under Program Files.
Did you clean uninstall before your reinstall?
Did you scour File Explorer & Registry for remnants?

I’ve turned off…several default on…switches. I’ve set up my Norton Private Browser similar to my Chrome setup . Norton Private Browser is not my daily rider.

I’ve had a few Norton Private Browser → Not Responding events…where I had to hard shutdown to gain control. Nothing on my machine would respond.
I’m now wondering whether Norton Private Browser → Web Shield at Advanced shields is causal.
Do you have Web Shield at Advanced shields? (may affect browser performance)
This is not a “Not Responding” situation. This is a “Private Mode Window crashes the browser any time I try to use it” situation.
I also cannot find Web Shield.

Thanks for helping find web shield. I am using standard Shields. There are no extensions other than the two installed by Lifelock. Yes, I do use a VPN.
