Norton browser will not stop making itself default ON IT'S OWN

I most definitely am NOT giving norton browser permission to set itself as the default browser.  I disabled anything to do with the norton browser in settings and have manually gone into windows defaults and have had to resetup chrome.  This feels tantamount to forced use and I'm getting quite frustrated with something on my system that I'm not allowed to control how it works/behaves.

How do I, once and for all (aka permanently) disable this behavior?

Thanks!

The op's image just shows that there is an option to set Norton Browser as default, which would seem to indicate that it is no the default at this time.

The screen we need to see is the page before that shows all default apps so we can see what the Windows default browser is.

Do you run Norton 360?

Norton 360 Startup Manager finds Norton Browser Core.

CCleaner > Startup finds Norton Browser Update Core.

Norton Utilities finds Norton Private Browser.

W10 Task Manager finds Norton Browser Core.

W10 Settings finds Norton Browser.

I've no notion why your Norton Private Browser install is not found.

Jakobi:

Windows 11.
The Norton Web Browser are not on any of the list> start apps, either not on Settings-Apps-Startup

We'll need W11 user to confirm.

Is it possible your Private Browser install is corrupt?

I have Special Offer Notification Off.

I just uninstall this browser. I thought at it is safety and less trackable, but if that cuse so such bugs, i just uninstall it.

Then I Uninstalled Private Browser...as not needed.
