Norton caused my computer to fail to boot up properly

I have an HP Pavilion from 2010. I had upgraded to Windows 10 and Norton 360 and ran fine. Months ago, 10?, an update? caused my computer to stop booting properly. I was able to turn Norton off and it booted and ran fine. If I turned Norton on it would fail in reboot. At one point I decided to try factory reset and reinstall. I have reinstalled Windows 10. Now Norton will not install properly. It downloads and gets to a point in installation where an server error message appears. It says it is working on a solution. When I click out of that message a screen pops up that says my trial version has expired. When I click to activate it brings me back the the server error message.  I cannot get past that point in installation. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, twice. I really need the files Norton has in the cloud.

When you did the factory reset, did you check to see if there was any trial security software? If you find any non Norton security software trials, you need to fully remove it using the removal tools for that software.  Then try your Norton install again.

i had the issue before with activation or it reconzing my subscription after a reinstall

i had to contact support to fix it

just my 2 cents, but i dont think a reinstall of windows was needed unless you were having issues with windows itself ( errors or problems)

had issues when i reinstalled norton also , i did the live updates restarts and once all up to date ran the auto fix tool ( found installation issue , nortons rnr tool isnt the greatest)

may want to try the support tool ( help top right on left i think says get support it runs the autofix tool
