I'm don't want to spread negative/incorrect information, only to pass info down that I believe could have possibly came from my experience by talking with Norton via chat.
A couple of weeks ago I spoke with a Norton agent via chat. Immediately, he asked for my name and phone number. I thought this was strange, but they have done this before so I didn't think anything of it. The chat went fine and my problem was addressed.
About two weeks later, I received a call (1st one ever) from a scam tech support person from Kentucky claiming he worked for AT&T and there was a problem with my computer that he needed to log in and fix. I hung up. He knew my name and telephone number. I thought this was odd and linked it back to my Norton chat where I gave up that information.
I know it is hard to place blame on anyone, especially Norton...but it does make me think. I did read somewhere where Norton had problems with one of their third party support companies. Not sure if this was related or not.
Anyway, just my 2 cents. Thanks for your time!
