Norton Crypto had been working for me for several weeks, but now, for the past couple of days, it continually says the Hash Rate is calculating and my Norton Wallet does not get updated. I'm pretty sure that mining is ongoing because my computer fan is loud until I click "Pause Mining," at which point the fan noise goes silent. My computer is being used but I'm not getting credit for it.
Seems like you all are correct. This issue (at least for me) had been resolved over a month ago, but now seems to have reappeared. "Calculating" is the frustrating word of the day. No hash rate shown, yet GPU is maxed. Calculations are definitely occurring, but we aren't getting credit for it. That crypto that is being generated is going somewhere, but definitely NOT into our Norton crypto wallets. This would also explain why the hashrate is lower than expected compared to other mining tools. Norton may be in fact skimming off of our projects being hashed. I foresee a major lawsuit against Norton if they don't get their act together and get this fixed. Most likely the cause of a rogue programmer who is committing fraud to steal crypto. What better way to do it than to use a legitimate 3rd party service provider (like Norton). The real problem is Norton has no quality control or checks and balances in place. Sloppy software development to the core. The US Trade Commission is going to have a field day with this company. A simple audit of their database will reveal where this crypto currency is being stored or transferred. Worst case, there will be evidence that funds are missing vs. the tracked hash rates for each client. Either way, this issue needs to be investigated.
Same Here, Nvidia GTX 1060 6 GB - tried for several days - NOTHING. Either it's not working, or Norton is using me for free...
I have verified that that I have an increase power usage and this software is utilizing my graphics card showing 100% utilization in task manager. This means Norton is utilizing my PC components for profit but not providing the agreed upon payment. This needs to be expeditiously investigated and I believe Norton needs to respond by halting this program immediately until the bugs are worked out. I also expect them to address the lack of payment for service's rendered.
yeah i agree they just really have to put more money and or time into this i think they just rushed into it as a bonus feature. they said they will be adding support and new features as time goes on im serious into the mining as of yet but it looks fun now, as of crypto it seems like buying and trading is the better way to go. Good Luck!!
I'm thinking it's time to move to a real crypto mining tool. Norton has zero tech support for their tool and we the customers are having to reach out to each other. Though our intent is sincere and kind, we do not have the proper insight into this software to help each other out very well. For such a large company, it seems they don't care very much for providing the right kind of customer service. Pretty sad if you ask me.
Well from what I noticed mining with a gtx 1080ti even though it says calculating it is mining I have been monitoring this process for half a day and yes it’s mining but I do get dips to like 7 hashes so your mileage may vary, now if you aren’t seeing and increase in in your total I would reinstall norton and make sure you up to date on your gpu drivers just to eliminate your pc as the problem
what gpu are you using?
Same problem. Checked this morning and no mining but resources being used
Yes a lot of us are having the same issue, your power / resources are being used and you are not getting credited, I would pause mining until they fix this, that is what I have done.
