Norton deleted an allowed program...

I am hoping that I can find someone here that can help or tell me of a number or something to connect with someone that actually knows their job? If I could find out how to at least make Norton ask me what to do when it finds problems I think I would be OK with all of my problems before now. But there is no information I can find, nor non outsourced/ineffective support people.

Norton deleted a game update.exe, and gave me no choice in the matter. After that, I tried downloading a file to update and fix the game. Yet, of course Norton found this one as a threat as well and deleted it.
I figured I could work around this, but also thought...why should I have to. And thereafter called support, which took forever. I am sure most expect this by now. However, they raised the bar in many ways. Including requesting to connect to my computer to "assist me", yet all they did was randomly move the cursor around in non logical way. Then ask me to perform general tasks of no consequence for them.
In the end, they barely understood my constant disproving and being a step ahead of their slow copy past instructions and responses. I ended up telling them that I was simply going to exclude the whole game folder from scans/etc and turn off Norton until I had finished downloading and installing the update.
They acted like they had actually been part of the solution and this was a acceptable one at that. When I asked why I should resubscribe to a service that gives me no choice in what is deleted and has no way around these types of problems(short of lessening the area of protection and turning it off at times)... And the one representative simply put me on hold to be connected with his supervisor. Which of course was just as inexperienced.

I spent at least a hour and a half trying to be understanding with these people, but be it a language barrier or that they were dragged off the street and taught how to copy paste a response.... They didn't even understand why I was telling them this shouldn't be a logical or acceptable answer(let alone the fact that I told THEM how to solve it). As well as the fact that I haven't even receive a e-mail from the form I filled out about them updating the file that I was trying to download and was being read as a threat and being deleted.

I did see  a quickfix for something about sonar scans picking up files that were already allowed or quarantined before, but I wanted to be sure that that was my issue before applying anything,

So they have failed on all fronts and I am trying now to see if there is any hope somewhere else...

Thanks to anyone that can supply it.

Please forgive any undue anger that was left over from my tech support experience and has found its way into this message.
