Norton detected Suspicious.MH690.A--what should I do?

Hello,

Norton Internet Security Auto Protect detected  Suspicious.MH690.A  as I was installing a music file converter downloaded from CNET (I know, stupid, but my husband said it would be OK...) in the middle of the install.  According to the NIS history, the Suspicious.MH690.A was a first a "Statistical submission," then detected by Auto Protect and then Quarantined.  Then a "Sample Submission" was listed as processing.  About 30 minutes later, in the History section again I saw that Intrusion was monitoring 1516 signatures, then Intrusion Prevention Engine was detected, and then finally Intrusion Protection was enabled.

OK, here are my questions:

1. What was detected?

2. It is listed in Quarantine with "No further Actions Required"--does that mean it is deleted? (I want it deleted.)

3. Was a sample of it sent to Norton, or was it just processed?

4. How can I be sure it is off the computer?

5. Was the fact that Intrusion Protection was enabled mean that it is still doing something, and not really  quarantined?

6. Autoprotect recognized it as I was running the executable file, so I'm hoping it caught it in time and I no longer have it on the system.  How would I know?  I moved the original downloaded file to the Recycle Bin, but haven't emptied it yet.

I know that it is possible this is a false positive, but I don't care--I want to be rid of it.  Under "Recommended Action" for the file it says "Resolved--No Action."  Does that mean it caught it and I don't have to worry?

Kudos to Norton IS for detecting this so quickly--I just want to better understand what happened and what else, if anything, needs to be done.

I know I haven't been very specific, so if you need a screen capture of the History I can send it as well.

Thanks,

Michelle
