Norton Disk Doctor

Just bought my first computer in April!!! It’s a HP pavilion / vista home premium. I installed Norton System Works. When I ran the Disk Doctor it fixed some things but I also got an alert that said physically damaged main partition wall, unable to check or repair. Now,naturally I don’t have a clue what that means or how to correct it and I really don’t want to call HP. I did a complete test run with my computers diagnostic tool and everything passed or got a 100%. So…where am I at here? The computer seems to work normal except for a small bug I mentioned yesterday that was resolved with the help of a couple good people here. thanks, lige

Welcome back, lige. Afraid I don’t know any more than you about that alert message. Would not worry too much since you ran diagnostics and it found no problems with your hard drive. Still I thought I would post a link to norton support in case you still have questions about that alert message. Or you could wait for some of the other forum members to help you, either way, good luck.  norton support

Thanks Turbo, that makes me feel a lot better. I appreciate the navagational help also.  lige

Glad to be of assistance, lige. Can’t believe you’re up this early.

Lige,

I suspect it found a 2048-sector aligned partition (Vista). You are lucky it was unable to "repair".

Brian-k, whoa brother! I went to that thread you sent me. Good lord! I have no idea what any of that means except I think I have a cylinder aligned vista. Sure wish I had just bought internet security instead. I actually bought system works by mistake thinking it was just a better form of internet security. Oh well next year I’ll go back to it. thank you, lige

thanks Turbo&Brian K for the help. I went to Norton support per Turbos advice and I believe the situation is resolved. Lige

Is there anything else by Norton I can use to clean and repair my Macintosh?

I have a Macintosh G4 with OS 10.4.11

I am looking for Norton Disk Doctor or Norton Utitlies with Disk Doctor that will work with my Macintosh.

Where can I find this product?

If by "clean and repair" you mean disk problems, then no, there is no Norton Mac product that replaces NUM functionality.  We do still provide Norton AntiVirus for Mac and Norton Internet Security for Mac, which protect agains malware, phishing, and other network threats, and protect your confidential data.

I hope that helps.
