Hello,
Just wanted to ask if someone noticed that Norton disk optimizer actually defragments ssd drives?
This issue is ongoing since quite a while and nobody seems to care. Defragamenting ssd drive does not do any good, moreover it damages it.

There was a problem with the Windows 10 version 2004 update which had been causing SSDs to defragment too frequently. This was fixed last September, This was a Microsoft issue, not a Norton issue. As peterweb said, Norton only launches the Windows optimization app, the need for a defrag or trim is all determined and done by Windows.
I took a look in the event log. It seems that you fixed it in your latest release.
Before this it really was like i mentioned. Thanks for the reply.
Norton Optimiser feature does not actually defrag an SSD. Norton optimiser just calls the Windows optimiser function which does recognise an SSD and will only run a trim if necessary.
