Norton Driver Updater Advertiser in My Norton

I’m hoping I can save Norton some embarrassment by pointing out FALSE Advertising claims you post under My Norton to get people to purchase your Norton Driver Updater.
Upon closer inspection on my machine it claims I have nine (9) Faulty drivers.

Detailed description:
When I look at the drivers it says I need, seven you say I need are out of date and two drivers do not apply to my computer.
How can the public trust your software with such glaring falsehoods?

Norton aren’t embarassed - its their business strategy to mislead customers.

Over a year later and Norton is still advertising, falsely, with regard to their driver updater in Norton Utilities Ultimate. Can you please fix your Norton 360 software and Norton Utilities Ultimate and stop with these other useless programs?

Sadly there doesn’t seem to be anyone governing companies like Norton - so they will just continue with scams like this.

Norton / Symantec should at least remove this advertising from the Norton Utilities Ultimate App interface as it is a waste of space. I’m guessing they get a lot of ‘Accidental’ clicks on this from unsuspecting users.

Everyone: There is no evidence that Norton/Gen Digital will remove the marketing spaces being used in the UI of their products. Everyone should post over on the Product Suggestions Board about the issue and make requests there where it will hopefully get a response.

The key issues with large Tech companies is akin to a word Microsoft uses all to often. Its about what they want to “allow” with installation and removal of things such as Co-Pilot+, Recall as examples. They are spending their behinds off on AI, what better way to train AI than just grab more data? Screenshots into the cloud every few minutes, your surfing data and even your voice along with keystrokes. ALL these things were at one time, 100% illegal here in the USA. Not anymore. Law makers allow it because of the heavy political contributions to their reelection causes. Now I am not trying to make a political statement here just postulation of facts.

So in the nutshell this issue isn’t going away anytime soon, if ever. Most software now comes with their own flavor of nagware too. Over time you will see it if you install other providers. My suggestion is just ignore it. I have been doing it for years even before it because this bad.

Regards,
SA
