I am furious that Norton bundles its free system scanner with other products like DIVX and installs itself by default. Many folk will miss the check box giving you the opt out. It should be the other way around. It should be an opt in box.
To make it worse, when I went to uninstall the product shortcuts were left behind and so were registry entries. I had to download a Norton removal tool to get rid of it. This is scandalous!
As far as I am concerned Norton installed by such sneaky means is malware.
BTW I gave up Norton years ago because it uses too much system resource and misses really serious spyware including some trojans. I had to hold SpyHunter in reserve to get rid of really nasty invaders.
