I trying to run Norton Ghost 14 on windows Xp professional with service pack 2. Every time I  run the application I get the following error message: “VProConsole.exe – Fatal error Unable to load Jit Complier: (mscorjit.dll) : file may be missing or corrupt . please check or rerun setup “ I have rerun the setup but still it gives the same error message.

Help!!!

I am getting the same error message running the system as administrator or in safe mode. As for the .Net , it has .Net Framework 3 along with Hotfix KB932471.

Thankyou for trying the steps to add to this can i get a small information on this

Do you have My computer icon on desktop or in start menu..

Just right click on My Computer and select the option Manage and that will open the computer management window

On the left side open Event Viewer and then click on Application then on the right pane check for Error which has a red circle with a white X

double click on it and check anything for vpro console and just post it and lets check for the solution then.

I had a look in the event viewer but could not find anything specific to VproConsole.exe, instead found the following two entries with source as 'Norton Ghost'

The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Service started.

It seems that the service is getting crashed try the workaround remove the .net framework all the versions using add or remove program in control panel and then download and install the new .net framework which is 3.5 version from the link http://netfx3.com/default.aspx

I was able to get Norton ghost 14 running on the same machine after uninstalling .Net Framework 1.1.

Sorry for the late response

And thanks Charmingcactus for all your help

Highly appreciate that !!!

Hi, Just a small information on this Jit Complier is related to microsoft .net framework

Try a step start the computer in safe mode and make sure you are logged in as an administrator

Then go to the control panel and then go to User Accounts and create a new user profile and give the administrative rights

Then restart the computer in normal mode and see if you still get the VProConsole.exe – Fatal error

The other work around is try to update the microsoft .net framework. Please let me know if this works for you
