Recently I have been having issues with Norton Ghost in that it is trying to start a new backup set though I have it set on YEARLY. Generally I have to define a new backup about every 2 months, however, today I discovered that it wanted to make an entirely new set, D_Drive004.v2i, after only 3 small increments. Any idea why all of the sudden this might happen?
Here are my specifics.
WinXP SP3
I back up to an External USB Hard Drive.....Seagate Free Agent that has 18% of it's storage space left and contains only previous backups
1) Standard Compression verifying recovery point creation (I do not limit the number of recovery points to be created in a set)
2) Ignore bad sectors & use AES encryption
3) Runs every morning
A new backup set takes about 11 hours to complete with verification so I would like to find a solution that does not bring my computer to a crawl for that amount of time for the second time in 4 days. Possibly a database issue that I could reset?
TIA
