I have been using Norton Save & Restore 2.0 for a few years and never had to restore anything but an occasional file or two.
Just yesterday, my hard drive died. Save & restore has been backing up my entire C Drive weekly and My Documents every day to an external drive, so I should be able to restore everything after installing a new drive in my computer.
Back when Norton Save & Restore was installed, I created a Recovery CD that is to be used in a major emergency to boot the computer. If it works correctly, should this boot the system to where I can restore the entire system from my external drive without having to install windows first?
Also, does anyone have the install file for Norton Save & Restore 2.0? I started with an earlier version of Norton Ghost. During some repair work by a North Tech, they replaced Ghost with Save & Restore 2.0 which was the latest. I never thought to download the install file just in case I ever needed to reinstall it. Now, there is very little mention of Save & restore on the Norton Site, as it has been replaced with yet another Ghost... Ghost 15. Norton doesn't even have the operators manual for Save & Restore. I chatted and maed a phone call to Norton and nobody has it archived away anywhere!!!
While I wait for my new drive to arrive, thanks in advance for any guidence.
