Norton Ghost 15 Backup Destination Problem

Hello,

I am using PC Windows 7 and have installed Norton Ghost 15 (and updated files). However, I can not set up the back up destination. Clicking on the area, using the browser it gets to external hard drive "G" but does not continue with this choice. I get a message that the "Agent" usage Administrative Credential might be the problem ?  I am the only one using this computer "Syscomputer" name.

Any help will be appreciated,

Hi,

What is the destination drive - size, format, connection type, etc.?

Thanks

Hello Dick,

First this post was entered two times and I did not know how to delete one of them.

Second, I spend 5 hours with Norton Tech support today and they could not solve this problem. Referred to second level technical help... and will continue on Friday.

Thanks for your post... and if I lean how the Norton Tech 2 level solves this problem, I will post back.

I believe the problem is Administrative Users Credentials to change access to changing the software, etc.?  The computer is a hand me down with others initially users using the computer.... and now just me.

Hopefully  they tried changing the permissions on the external drive to give everyone full access.

Monday Evening EST 2-4-13 NYC, update:

Problem not resolved. Tech level 1 and two people spend 4 hours and could not resolve my issue. And then referred me to Tech Level 2 (1 person) and after spending about 8 hours could not resolve my problem. He said he would call back the next day Saturday (I got that impression) but he did not. And he also said other work day was today, Monday and but again he never call me back. Plus I do not have an e-mail address to contact him.

Basically, Norton Ghost 15 is not recognizing my external hard drive "My Book" 1TB. Windows 7 backup did, recognize my backup drive and after many hours and half way through, I got a message an error and could not do the backup.

Further, the previous owner was an accountant and must have some good security (on Users) and was the initial Administrator. But I am now the Administrator... but not sure if Windows 7 had corrected this.. the Tech Level 2 guy should have seen to this.  Also, thanks for the URL but it appeared to be talking about changing Folders and File Users permission.. not any External Hard Drive (as far as I can tell).

Finally, I did get a phone call from a Tech 2 person who never called me first thing in the morning, so I called tech support and got another Tech 2 person (who worked on my computer). However, the first Tech 2 person gave me his e-mail address and I might touch base with him. However, after many hours and no results... I might just chuck Norton Ghost 15 and purchase Acronis software (and after I consider reformatting my entire computer "C" drive to purge it of any security Users problems).

Thanks for everyones comments.... and if there are any other comments, I am listening..

I have a problem w/Ghost v.15 when I try to pick my 2TB external WD Mybook drive.  I can select it in browse but then it can't find it when I try to go to the next screen.  My solultion was to physically type in the drive letter and directory (example g:\Norton Backups).  Then it works.  Don't know why, but it might help you.
