Norton Ghost 15: Hidden and / or system files not backed up?

Does NG 15 ignore hidden and / or system files during back up? Will this cause problems, if I need to recover the entire system from scratch using a recovery point? Will I i.e. lose settings in W7 or something like that, when I restore the drive?

I got suspicious since the amount for used space on C: is 22,6 Gb according to W7 64-bit, while the recovery point file is just 9,4 Gb. I know NG uses compression, but this seemed to good to be true. I mounted the recovery point, and compared the number of files and directories. It seems that at least some system and / or hidden files aren't backed up.

One directory affected by this is \Windows\SoftwareDistribution\. The C: drive lists 1'075 files and 177 directories in this directory, while the recovery point only lists 20 files and 177 directories in its corresponding directory.

Thanks for clearing that up! Norton Ghost is a very convenient backup utility.
