Norton Ghost 15 Symsnap.sys causes blue screen

Hello,

I am having an problems with Norton Ghost 15.  If I boot my computer up with a 500GB USB external drive attached, the computer will blue screen saying the cause was symsnap.sys.  The blue screen error code is 0x0000008E.  If I unplug the drive the computer will boot fine and I can plug the drive in and use it with no issues after the computer is fully booted up.  I have other smaller usb drives that can remain plugged in it all times, even through boot up and will not cause any issues.   I have confirmed Norton Ghost is the problem because if it is uninstalled and I can boot the computer with the 500GB drive attached.

This same issue was posted in this forum with version 10 and 14.  No Norton fixes were offered and no Symantec experts chimed in.

I've noticed that after I crash with blue screen, NIS2010 fails to load at next bootup and ccSvcHst stops responding at shutdown.  None of these issues exist when I uninstall Ghost.

I have a Dell XPS410 with 4Gig RAM, 500 Gig Raid, running Windows XP MCE SP3.
