I was trying to backup and restore my windows 7 (32bit)
Overview
- Norton Ghost 15 (bootable cd) to backup and restore
- bootable cd > backup/restore my c drive to/from an image > image saved on an USB external drive
- source hard drive 2TB drive
- destination drive is another identical 2TB drive
Issue
- Upon restore the driver does not boot up.
Steps
- insert bootable norton ghost 15 cd
- selected the partition that i wanted to backup c and system reserve

- Saved it to the external usb drive

- Started BACKUP
- 2 images clone images files were on the external usb drive
- Replaced the source drive with the destination drive in the desktop
- rebooted with the cd
- started RECOVERY
- Added the c drive image to the restore option

- click edit to be sure to delete all the partitions on the destination drive so it's all unallocated space
- Be sure that the following settings were enabled
- Parition Type : Primary
- Enable : Set drive active
- Enable : restore original disk signature

- rebooted
- result
- Bootmgr is missing Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart
Obviously I'm missing something. It's odd as windowxp worked following steps above correctly. (yes i know 7 and xp are different). Just frustrated on a software that should make it relatively no brainer.
what am I doing wrong?
