Norton Ghost - Disc Copying Problem

I'm sorry for the questions; trying to understand the problem better.

 

When you state "...but when he tries to see if it works..." how is he trying to see if it works? Is he loading the image back on the system to test the full backup and restore process?

 

When you state "...there is a message saying 'system error'..." can you get any more details on this error? Any codes? Ghost reports all warnings and errors to the Windows Event log. Could you have him look at the application event logs and check for any warnings/errors from Ghost, Ghost Service, V2i, Volume Shadow Copy Service, etc? Has he run LiveUpdate in Ghost until there are no more updates?

 

Until we know the above information, it's hard to know what he did. It might also be helpful to know his exact steps in creating and restoring the image. Please include as many details about settings as possible. Thanks!
