I received an email from Norton <norton@secure.norton.com> on Mon 29th April 2024 @ 18:45 saying "Oops! Your payment didn't go through again. Don't worry. We have extended your subscription for 60 days at no additional charge." The payment didn't go through because the card attached to my account has expired, but before I update the card details I'd like to know why Norton tried to take this payment so early. I renewed last year on 9th June 2023, so I would expect my renewal date to be 9th June 2024. For your info, I have the Norton 360 Deluxe product.
its about 2 months ( plus or minus) when you will start to get the renewal emails saying when it expires and payment etc....
the card or payment method on your account is what they will use
Maybe, 29-Apr-2024 is payment method test...with actual pull 09-Jun-2024

Hello. I can't actually tell whether a 60 day extension has been applied to my subscription, but I don't think it has - the money normally comes out of my bank account on 9th June, and if you add 35 days to that it comes to 14th July, which is pretty close to the renewal date of 12th July 2024 showing on My Account, My Subscriptions tab. I don't know why Norton have tried to take a payment in April, but as long as I get a renewal notification email in good time I'll make sure my card details are updated in time for the new subscription to be taken on or around 9th June 2024.
- Renewal: subscriptions automatically renew unless the renewal is cancelled before billing. Renewal payments are billed annually (up to 35 days before renewal) or monthly depending on your billing cycle. Annual subscribers will receive an email with the renewal price beforehand. Renewal prices may be higher than the initial price and are subject to change. You can cancel the renewal as described here in your account or by contacting us here.
YI Mann:
According to my Norton account my subscription renewal date is 7/12/2024 (which I assume is 12th July 2024).
I have renewed on 9th June for the last 3 years
Is 12-Jul-2024 with 60 days extension?
Is 12-Jul-2024 your subscription ends on date?
Is 09-Jun-202x your subscription ends on date?
YI Mann:
I'm surprised by this, as I have renewed on 9th June for the last 3 years,
Are you referring to when payment was pulled?
Note: payments are billed annually (up to 35 days before renewal).
Thanks for the prompt response. I am based in the UK. According to my Norton account my subscription renewal date is 7/12/2024 (which I assume is 12th July 2024). I'm surprised by this, as I have renewed on 9th June for the last 3 years, so I'm not sure why the date has changed to 12th July. So far I have not received an email notification of the renewal price.

We send a notification email before each upcoming annual renewal (usually about 50-65 days ahead), so that you are not caught off-guard. This notification email provides important information, such as the price for the next annual term, and the subscription renewal and billing dates. This helps you to adjust your protection plan according to your needs.
Another benefit of subscribing to our automatically renewing subscription is that you gain the benefits of the Norton Virus Protection Promise.
