Norton Insight server trouble lately?

For the last couple of days, Norton Insight (and Download Insight) has been failing to connect to the Symantec server.  So when I run Norton Insight, I keep getting the message "Norton Insight cannot collect the necessary data because it cannot connect to the Symantec server." Also when I download a file it shows attempting to check the file and then "Unknown" after a delay.  Is there a current issue with the Symantec servers?  My internet is fine, of course.

Yes there is a problem.  There's a thread here  -  http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Norton-having-Insight-issues/td-p/1050591

Thanks for the info. :)

The site is up and running again.....:smileyhappy:

It works again!  But selecting "All Files" in the Norton Insight dialog on 2 Windows 7 (one x64, one x32) computers here result in "unknown error" after collecting files.  However on a Windows 8.1 x64 computer here "All Files" displays fine.  (All of the other display selections work fine on all the computers.)

Hi scree,

I just completed Norton Insight scan including All Files on my W7 machine and it completed without any errors.  Can you try again?

Which version of N360 are you using?  Support > About will give you the version.

Thanks!

Hi.  It's 21.1.0.18 (comcast).  Been trying again since the connection problem was fixed.  The error message actually says try again later too.  The other display selections work, just for some reason All Files won't after spending the time collecting on 2 seperate computers (one much more heavily used and with more files than the other computer).  But it works fine on the third computer (happened to install there today).

Could it be choking on a particular file on the 2 computers? Guess no way to really tell though. Maybe there's some data file that is corrupt on both I can delete?  Anyway thanks for reply.

OK this particular issue was resolved with a reboot on the 2 computers.  Maybe the issue developed because of the server outages before.  And both were up for over 6 days, if that matters.  So I dunno, but it works again now.
