Good Morning Floating_Red,
I am truly sorry to hear that you encountered this issue.
Was SP3 just recently installed or has it been there for a while?
Do you notice any other strange computer behavior such as missing items from the Start menu, Web page redirects, etc?
Good afternoon/evening Phil_D,
S.P. 03 has been installed just after it was Released, so at least a good few months.
Have had no behaviour that you suggested. Although, ever since symantec Intrusion Prevention Signatures Blocked an Intrusion Attempt on Monday, September 01, 2008, I have noticed that my computer seems to be running a little bit slower, i.e. when the Loading Bar - when a Web Page is being Loaded - reaches the top, it takes a few seconds for the Web Page to show, mostly fully-loaded. This is normal behaviour as it would only occur a few times, but now it seems to occur almost all of the time.
I have been busy this afternoon, doing two Full System Scans - one with September 05, rev. 41 Def.s; one with September 06, rev. 03 Def.s - in Safe Mode and pick-up no viruses, spyware or other risks.
Any suggestions as to what to do now? No idea how long this has been like this for, with regard to the Protect Norton Product against hackers, e.t.c..
Floating_Red,
Since I have seen that you have recommended Norton AntiBot to others in the past, I will assume that you have run that.
Try downloading the Free version of Malwarebytes, install it and run the update.
Then unplug from the internet and run a full Malwarebytes scan in SAFE MODE and in normal mode. If items are found, let the program delete them. If you have no objections to deleteing your System Restore points, I would do that also.
Then reconnect to the internet and see how things run.
Best Wishes.
Floating_Red, this may be related to the remediation to the intrusion. Please look in the logs and try to provide whatever information you can about the intrusion that was detected.

Did a Scan and it found 10 infections, but I still have the problem with Norton.
Is there a way to Submit "infected" files/folders via the symantec Web Site, or is it just via Norton? If need-be, I will Post them [the files/folders] here.

Floating_Red, thanks for the additional information. I doubt that handling this intrusion probably didn’t cause your current issues, but I’ll look into some more on Monday.
