Norton Internet Security 2011 - Update size growing each day

I have NIS 2011 on a windows 7 machine for awhile with no problems, but now when I update NIS comes up with the same large update everyday as if when I updated the day before was not saved or installed.  Each day the size of the update grows adding what was not saved / installed from the day before.  Currently the update size is up to 107 + MB each day and growing.  What needs to be done to fix the update?

The malware writers need to find something else to do besides writing malware and to stop  mutating it so often like every day or every hour most likely.

 

Please check the time and date and location on your computer and check for any errors relating to time.

If Norton detects or suspects anything amiss with the virus definitions cache on your system it will download a new complete set rather than just updates.  Click Support > Get Support and run the Auto-fix program to make sure that there is nothing wrong with your installation that might be causing this issue.

I watched the date and time settings along with the region and found no changes and everything appeared correct.  I ran the auto check from Norton and found no problems.  I scanned the computer after updates were installed and found no problems.  However, as of Friday July 15, 2011 the problem appears fixed, the update size starting on Friday and through the weekend have been normal small updates.  As of now the problem appears to be fixed.
