Norton Internet Security 4 for Mac - Install BUG

The installation for Norton Internet Security 4 for Mac has a BUG. While installing this product, I am prompted as to whether or not I would like to install the "Phishing Toolbar". The installation program states that the "Phishing Toolbar" does not have to be installed to be protected against phishing attacks. Being a minimalist, I unchecked the box during installation choosing not to install the "Phishing Toolbar".

After finishing the installation and initial setup, and allowing Liveupdate to run during the process, everything appeared to be complete. Norton Antivirus was installed and functioning, Norton Firewall was installed and functioning, however, though I could access Norton Confidential, it stated it was not installed.

So, I reinstalled the entire product making the exact same choices. Yet again, I got the exact same results with Norton Confidential. I then ran Liveupdate multiple times, and received updates each time it was ran. After three sessions, it stated everything was up to date. I checked Norton Confidentail again, and amazingly, everything appeared to be installed. Confusing?

I then proceeded to go through each setting adjusting items as necessary. This is where I came across the "Phishing" section which has the option  to show the "Phishing Toolbar" in the browser. I made sure this was unchecked, as one, I had chosen not to install it during the installation, and two, I simply was not interested in using the toolbar itself.

It would appear everything was finally complete. Unfortunately this is not the case. Every single time I open my Firefox broswer, I am prompted with a popup message from Norton Confidential that it needs to install the "Phishing Toolbar". The same "Phishing Toolbar" that I was advised during installation that I did not have to install, and that I chose to not install.

This appears to be a bug with the installation process, as it only affects my Firefox browser. I can open and use Safari all day long, and this message never appears. I have tested this making each browser the default, and clearing all cache, etc. I would have attached a .tiff image of the popup which currently plagues my Firefox browser, but this forum only allows .txt, and .log files as attachments.

Will Symantec do anything to resolve this?

The install process was ran with the following hardware/software:

iMac 24" v6.1

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16Ghz, 250Gb, 4Gb

Snow Leopard v10.6.2

Firefox v3.5.7

Firefox has since been upgraded to v3.6, however, the issue remains to exist with Norton Confidential.
