i´m running win7 and installed win7 already twice cause for some reason nis 2010 closes itself after a few minutes, no tray icon no task running. could some1 please explain me that and assist me to solve it?
i´m running win7 ultimate clean install each time. no other security software. clean nis install each time.
Hi itclosesitself:
Go into Task Manager and see how many ccSvcHst.exe processes are running when this happens.
Ideally you should see 2 of them, one for System the other for Owner (or logged in User.)
Are both utilizing CPU time or just one. If one, please indicate which of the above.
If you reboot your computer, does NIS work properly?
It could also be a Malware indication, IMO, but post the above information first.
Thanks.
Does Symantec closes itself or does the tray icon disappear?
i can´t see any ccSvcHst.exe processes running although i´m admin and and enabled show all processes.
Edit: i just started my pc which means norton was running and i decided to scan my pc for maleware and while scanning the window and whole nis disappeared!!! both ccSvcHst.exe processes gone suddelny!!!
i´m afraid i have some kind of maleware!
edit2: a few seconds after i posted edit 1 nis reappeared the icon and task in task manager! but as soon as i told it to scan my pc it disappeared again!
it seems as if this would happen every time: i start my pc - nis is runnig, after a few minutes or as soon as i start a scan for maleware nis disappears (icon + task gone and when manually starting it some 1-click support window) and reappears after a short time.
What operating system are you using? If not on WinXP and you view the Security History and choose to Show: Errors, is anything listed? Especially around the time that the tray icon disappears?
i´m still using windows 7 and history shows no errors furthermore it claims that i never even started a scan (it crashes a few seconds after i start i scan).
PS: GData runs just fine and it hasn´t found any malware.

I'm sorry, you did state in a number of posts that it was Win7. If no entry is showing in the Errors than this will be difficult to isolate. Is there anything in Windows' system logs around the time you observe these issues?
what do you mean with windows logs? i have never used them. where do i find them and what do you want me to look for?
Go to the Start Menu, Accessories, and Run. Type eventvwr
Unfold Windows Logs to the upper left, and check in the Application and System logs mainly for errors or other events at the time this happens.
