Perhaps the question is "Why does the second memory module interfere with NIS2008?" <s>
There are utilities to check for errors in memory modules (these can develop or might have been there but not accessed until you added NIS 2008). Have you checked the module this way -- or by removing module 1 and putting module 2 in its place?
But I'd also suggest upgrading to NIS2009 which you can do for free for the remainder of your unexpired subscription to NIS2008 if only because it makes much less call on memory than NIS 2008 (which itself made less demands than preceding versions).
Try the memory swap and let us know .....
ALso check out that you do not have more than one firewall or antivirus/security program running at the same time.
Thank,
There is the error on Advanced Protection after upgrading to NIS2009.

Sorry but I can't understsand your message even when read in conjunction with your first message.
Before you changed to NIS 2009 did you swap the memory modules and see if the error moves with the module as I suggested in my reply to your first message.
Maybe your memory module is defective, swap it out with another module, or run some memtests http://www.memtest.org/
Thank huwyngr and denniz.
Memtest did show one ram module is defective.

I will not blame Norton for hardware faults on my computer .... <gdr>
I'm glad you found the problem.
