I recently bought Norton Internet Security for my desktop and laptop. I bought it in store called PC World and it said you could use it on 3 different things at once. It came with a disc and a product code. I decided to use the product code on my Windows 8 laptop because the Norton Internet Security trial was up. It worked fine. Later, I used the disc to install it on my Windows XP desktop. Installing it was fine and when I set it up and used it, it said my computer was at risk, so I clicked on fix now to solve the problem and when it finished it didn't fix it and it said fix not complete. I don't know why it isn't fixing it and how do I fix it, thanks.
No, it just said Fix not complete, because of this (I think) it wont let me scan properly. When I try to scan (Quick scan) it just says Problem Detected and that my product is inactive and that there was an error during the scan.
What av software was loaded or previously loaded on the desktop before installing NIS?
Zone Alarm was the Anti Virus software I was using before I switched to Norton
Maybe you did not run their removal tool
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/zonealarm-uninstall-tool/
Suggest you run this. Then uninstall NIS, then run Norton Removal Tool, reboot and reinstall NIS.
Wouldn't unstalling NIS use another one of my 3 keys?

As long as you are installing on the same machine, it is counted as the same installation.
If you have a problem with this you can contact Support via chat. www.norton.com/chat

You are welcome.

What AV was installed prior to NIS?
Zone Alarm
Check this site for the removal utility for Zone Alarm. http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN146
Then you should remove Norton with the Norton Removal tool before reinstalling.
Download the Norton Removal Tool from here www.norton.com/nrt
If you use Identity Safe, backup/export your data. Use the CSV format for compatibility.
Uninstall your Norton product with Windows control panel.
Reboot.
Run the Norton Removal Tool.
Reboot.
Log into your Norton Account from here www.account.norton.com
Click on the Download button beside your current product subscription. This will download and install a preactivated copy of your product.
Run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.
Try to log into your Identity Safe. If you can, you are done. If not, Import your Identity Safe data.
Let us know if this helps.
I don't think you will get help faster by starting the same thread over and over.
