I am currently running NIS 2012 (3-PCs) (19.5.0.145) on my home computers. All 3 licenses are being currenly used. I plan on buying a new computer in the coming weeks. How can I release one license so that it can be used on my new computer? And, where can I download the most updated NIS 2012 software?
Thanks, as always,
John

Thanks so much, Hugh, for the information. You've been quite helpful. It seems to me that the "Chat" button is the easiest way to take care of a one-computer deactivation (release a license).
One more question regarding the "most updated" NIS 2012 download for a new computer. The computer I'm lookiing to purchase comes with a 1-year subscription to NIS 2012. When the year is up, can I simply enter my released NIS product key in order to keep all three computers in my home on the same 3-PC license .
I hope my question makes sense. If not, let me know.

Yes I think that is what you will need to do -- assuming that your existing 3PC licence has been extended by the time the 12 months on your new PC runs out.
When your existing licence for 3 PCs is near expiry start thinking about how you are going to extend the subscription:
The easy way is to go online to Norton and RENEW the subscription but very often this is more expensive.
The less expensive way is to BUY A NEW COPY retail from a reliable source when it is on sale with discounts and rebates.
BUT
When you RENEW the time you buy is added to unexpired time so if you Renew say a month before the subscription expires you willl end up with 13 months to go ....HOWEVER when you BUY and enter the new KEY it wipes out unexpired time and in the example just given you would only end up with 12 months. User feedback is that Support is very good at putting this time back on but it is a concession so we can't rely on it always being done if policy changes. I'm not saying it will but if it does it does.
I suggest that whichever way you liberate that activation (but with one year free trial on the new PC will you need to do this or do you have more than 12 months left on your 3 PC subscription?) you consider adding the Norton Management Applet so you can more easily identify which PC is on which licence.
