Norton Internet Security times out and stops working.
When Norton Internet Security times out, not only does the upgrade process stop working, the current configuration stops working. Stated differently, the entire software package stops working.
Such is simply a company deciding to force one to upgrade or go without any protection. I have never purchase a software package where the license was for 1 or 2 years for the entire package. Such is a SCAM in my opinion. And I am not interested in hearing any lies as to why such a business model is necessary or for my own good. I know better.
I helped design one of the first person computers while working at IBM, the IBM PC. I remember the 1980’s company that became Norton’s and used their dos disk copy software – pre Norton Utilities. What Symantec is doing now is a scam and unethical although legal.
Not to mention the quick renewal price is double the price one can find on the internet. I am not impressed.
I understand Symantec is entitled to run their company any legal way they wish and charge whatever they want. Similarly, I am free to choose not to use their product.
So I have completely uninstalled Norton Internet Security and I will not use them again as long as such policy continues. And I will tell all who will listen of Symantec’s policies to make sure they know before they buy.
There are other good security suites out there and they will not stop working after a year.
Just letting you know the opinion of one former NIS user for your database just incase you notice a reduction in you customer base and are wondering why.
