Norton Internet Security won't allow a program

Hi guys,

I'm new here so please bear with me.  My question is, why won't Norton allow my mp3 cutter program to exist peacefully.  Everytime I reinstall it then go to launch it it tells me it can't find the file.  Then a Norton window comes up near the taskbar and tells me "autoprotect blocked security risk backdoor.ciadoor".  The only way I can run the program is to turn norton security off.  I used this program extensively when I had mcafee.  The norton program will not let my mp3 cutter alone.  Is there anything I can do?
