Norton IS 2009 new product key

Hello, everybody!

I have installed Norton IS 2009 (1 year licence for up to 3 PC's) and I still have 160 days of subscription. However, today I bought another NIS 2009, 2 years licence for up to 3 PC's.  If I enter now the new key ( it is not a subscription renewal code, it is a regular licence ) the 160 days of remaining subscription will go....away? Or the new key will add 2 more years of subscription to my 160 existing ones (160+730=890 days ) ??? Or shall I wait until my old subscription expires and then use the new key?

Hope this doesn't sound too confusing....

Thank you for your help!

M.

Hi emark -

Here's what I would do:

It is not confusing!

Let your subscription run down to the last few days, then use the new key, since it will start you off from day one.

Then you are good to go!

Hi,

This is very simple. If you activate the same product using the new product key, your subscription days will not get added. But we have a simple way of doing this. Contact customer service. Tell then what you need and provide them both the product keys. They will add the subscription days in your old product key to the new product key and will activate the product using the new product key. You will get the 890 days of subscription.

But what about the other licenses should the user wish to run them on another two computers?

They would not start from day one, right?

I need to know in how many computers the user has installed Norton 2009 in order to answer this.

Vineeth--

Hi! And thank you for your answers. Well, the old key has been used for activation on 2 computers. I intend to install NIS on a 3rd one, and here I don't want to use "directly" the new key, but the old one, to have the benefit of the 160 remaining days :)

Thanks

Hi.

Yes, that is what I would do - IMHO. Save the new key for when the subscription runs out. That's it.

Best.

Okay, you have three computers, Norton 2009 activated with the old key is installed on two computers. Now you wish to install Norton 2009 on third computer. You have purchased a new two year subscription product also. In the third computer you would like to get 890 days of subscription. Is this the scenario?

And do you have any other computer? or do you wish to to install Norton 2009 on any other computer?

Vineeth

:smileysad: I said it is confusing..... Well, this is the scenario..... I want to have the whole 890 days of subscription, on ALL Computers. And no, I don't have another PC... Only these 3 PC's

Thank you...

If you do not have any other computer, then you can contact customer service and add the old key subscription to the new one. Then activate all the three products (in 3 computers) with the new product key. You will get 890 days of subscription on all the three computers.

Vineeth--

Hi emark,

I would suggest you to wait till the old subscription expires & later activate the product with the new key to get 2 years of subscription. But please ensure that you don’t activate the product with the new key on any computer before the old keys expires because from the date of activation, subscription days will start decrementing.

Also please contact customer support for any extended assistance on this
