I used NRT to uninstall CD version that caused the wacky issues (IE won't open, MS Word 2007 says Not enough memory to run, Internet Options,)
I used the link that was provided to me here at this forum and did a reinstall.
Still cannot open IE, now I can't open Firefox. MS Word 2007 same message. Not enough space.
I have 32gig free. I have deleted 80% of TEMP files, disk check, clean up, defrag.
Please advise how to repair these programs. After having no problems for 4 years, I have to believe that the norton software or virus handling altered vital exe files or something.
jimmyfro5 - Just clutching at straws, but you said your problems started when you installed NAV 2011? Where did you get your CD of Norton Anti-Virus? Did you buy the CD online from an authentic dealer? Just trying to narrow down your problem.
jimmyfro5 - Also if you have access to another PC, you might try downloading the free Portable copy of SuperAntiSpyware, to a thumb/flash drive, to check your system for malware.
Hello jimmyfro5 Please excuse my confusion. Your Topic reports Norton IS 2011 suggesting your product is NIS11 Your reply reports I removed Norton Anti Virus 2011 (NAV11) Please clarify which Norton product and the version #. If NAV11 ... what FW are you running. What Security product did you use before NIS or NAV install. Initially you report your installation causal to wacky problems. Later you report use of the NRT caused the wacky issues. As far as you know prior to all things wacky. Your system was 100% stable. No unusual behavior. Please advise what security product was before current Norton product (NIS/NAV) and how it was removed. Do you suspect malware? The Community will suggest free malware & help sites... Are you posting from the wacky machine. Thanks
