My NIS after years of use would not complete a quick scan. When I reopened NIS it said an error has occurred and it started to auto check installation. This went on for an hour so I restarted my computer ( Surface Pro) windows 10, and this did not solve problem.
So I uninstalled NIS, then attempted to Reintall NIS. After awhile it said installation unable to continue as incomparable programs detected see list. The program was Trusteer Rapport. I continued with the installation of NIS and error was still occurring when attempting quick scan.
As I did not want to uninstall Trusteer Rapport I uninstalled NIS again, switched on MS Windows 10 internet security. Updated definitions and run a full scan ok.
So I am going to use this free internet security that comes with windows 10 and see how it goes
