Issue abstract: Norton is marking email category with “Norton-Safe”. I hate this and want to stop the marking!
Detailed description:
Norton changes a category of incoming emails with “Norton-Safe”. I did NOT authorize Norton to use one of my 2 category slots for their own advertising.
How do I turn off this unwanted feature, or do I need a new anti-virus software? Yes, that is how much it ticks me off.
If you are using Norton Safe Mail, the Norton-Safe sounds like the tag being added to let you know that Norton Safe Mail had deemed that email as safe.
Correct, but I want to stop Norton from filling the category with their useless information.
I’ve used Norton products since Peter Norton was the programmer.
Generally, their products are efficient effective AND discreet!
Norton applying category labels should be under my control, not Norton’s hubristic whim and self grandification.
I was, but even after removing email addresses and uninstalling Norton 360 I’m still getting those flags on emails. I called N360 tech support and someone was supposed to get back to me. Of course, never heard back from anyone.
Oh…okay…since, I’ve not seen Norton Safe Email nor run an email client. I was wondering whether Norton 360 Email Protection → Add signature…was generating Norton-Safe.
Norton Safe Email generating “Norton-Safe” makes sense.
