There had been two previous strings on this subject (both now closed for replies), concerning Live Update failures. Until yesterday, they had been sporadic, and usually resolved by waiting a few minutes, and running Live Update again. Yesterday, however, the problem came back to life. I ran Live Update, and everything was successful except for the Norton Activity Map data, which failed. I waited several minutes, and tried again, and it still failed. This went on for several hours--I probably tried 7 or 8 times on two different machines (one Windows 7 64 bit and one XP Home, SP3). About 12:30 AM this morning, I was able to get a successful Live Update, on both machines. This afternoon, when I ran Live Update, the Norton Activity Map data again failed. But other updates processed successfully. Since this update required a restart (an annoyance in and of itself), I rebooted, then ran Live Update again. This time, it completed successfully.
Am curious as to whether or not anyone else has experienced a resurgence of this long standing problem lately.
