For more than two months, I have not been able to update to the new Norton, and I am now using an old version, v22
I had a direct conversation with technical support and they were not able to solve the problem and I am still stuck

What you are referring to as a problem, many here would see as a blessing. There are many threads here with problems with the newer v24.x.x.x.
What Windows version are you using?
But if you really want to get the update, start by uninstalling your current Norton by using the Norton Removal tool here. www.norton.com/nrnr Use the Advanced Option - Remove Only. Restart the computer to complete the removal. Restart, not shutdown and startup again.
Then log into your Norton Account and click on My Account at the top right and click on My Subscriptions. Find your 360 subscription and click on Download. Then follow the instructions to Install on this Device. That should get you the newer V24 installed.
